Streamer Mode is necessary and incomplete. It hides personal info and can suppress Discord notifications — it does not close Chrome, Slack, or the Discord window sitting on your desktop.
What Streamer Mode actually does
See the toggle-by-toggle guide: Discord Streamer Mode settings explained.
What it does not do
- Disable overlay (do that separately).
- Stop display capture from showing other apps.
- Quit Discord for you.
The missing step
Close everything except the stream stack — close all apps before going live — then turn Streamer Mode on.
