Streamer Mode is Discord’s built-in “I am live” switch. It hides the embarrassing bits of the Discord UI and can mute notifications — but it will not close windows or disable the overlay for you.
Where to find it
User Settings → Streamer Mode. Turn it on, then enable auto-toggle when OBS / supported software is detected.
What the important toggles do
- Hide personal information: email, connected accounts, and similar identity fields.
- Hide invite links: stops vanity invites sitting in plain sight on stream.
- Disable notifications / sounds: stops Discord banners while Mode is active.
What Streamer Mode does not do
- It does not disable the in-game overlay — turn that off separately (overlay guide).
- It does not close the Discord window under display capture.
- It does not quiet other apps — still use OS Focus / DND.
Pair it with a desktop clear
