OBS will stream whatever Discord draws on top of your game — and whatever sits on your desktop if you use display capture. Fix overlay first, then pick a safer source, then clear the rest of the machine.
1. Kill Discord overlay
- Discord → User Settings → Overlay → disable Enable in-game overlay.
- Under Registered Games, turn overlay off for any title you capture.
- Confirm Streamer Mode is on — see Streamer Mode settings.
2. Prefer window / game capture
Display capture includes every alt-tab. Game or window capture limits the frame to what you meant to show. Details in OBS display vs window capture.
3. Close everything else
Overlay-off is not enough if Discord still sits in Alt-Tab. Use close all apps before going live or Captain Kill Switch in one click, then open only OBS, the game, and chat you need.
